Filing Your 2024/25 Self-Assessment Tax Return

Published 01/06/2025Last updated 11/12/2025

The 2024/25 self-assessment tax return will be due to be filed by 31st January 2026. At Mighty, we offer personal tax return preparation for £125 + VAT as an optional add-on outside of our core subscription, as some clients choose to manage this themselves.

If you'd like our support:

  • You can fill in the form here to provide the information we need.
  • You can make payment here. Please ensure the payment is made personally rather than via your company, as this is a personal expense.

Is this required?

Yes, if you were a company director that received untaxed income (e.g. dividends) in the tax year (e.g. 6th April 2024 – 5th April 2025), you will be required to submit a tax return to HMRC for the year and pay the relevant tax on these dividends.

Even if you didn’t pay yourself dividends, this may still be required if:

  • You are already registered for self-assessment, so HMRC will expect a return to be filed.
  • You have had a notice from HMRC requesting you to file a self-assessment.
  • Or you have had any other untaxed income (e.g. sole trader income, rental income etc.).

How do I register?

If you haven’t yet registered for self-assessment (and as a result, don’t have your personal UTR), we have a guide on how to register here.

If you have any questions with your self-assessment, please feel free to contact your dedicated Mighty accountant or support@mightyaccounting.com.
